Ttouch Workshops * The Ttouch workshop is run by an experienced P1 Practitioner, Lynne Ewington at our centre in Wednesbury. If you would like a one to one consultation in tTouch for your dog please contact us and we will forward your details to Lynne. Dog First Aid Course Would you like to learn Canine First Aid and CPR but unable to attend a scheduled class. No problem, why don’t we come to you? We can teach up to four people in the comfort of your own home. Within a 10 mile radius of the centre there will be no extra charge but outside this the mileage charge both ways applies. This option has proven popular with people who work full time and older citizens who may be house bound but want to know what to do should that emergency arise. As well as people just wanting one to one private tuition. All courses are run by us unless otherwise marked *. Courses so marked can be booked and paid for through us with the exception of the Canine Studies Course. This is booked through Compass Training and payment is made directly to the Compass. We are in the process of arranging our own professionally filmed Canine First Aid and CPR DVD. If you would like to be notified when it is ready for sale please e-mail us expressing your interest and we will notify you when it is available. Health and Safety - Risk Assessment Workshop We have introduced this for companies and organisations whose employees have to enter domestic or commercial premises where dogs are kept and is aimed at local authorities, domestic and commercial maintenance companies and utility companies to name but a few. We aim to give you essential information in addition to your current Risk Assessment Procedures where members of staff or employees may have day to day dealings with customers or clients with domestic dogs on the premises. This workshop is of a half day duration so as to minimise staff time away from their work place and we can provide it at our centre or your own venue as a stand alone workshop or we can incorporate it into your own staff training program. What we aim to show you is how dogs communicate and the way they communicate to humans, some useful advice on preventative measures you can take to reduce risks to staff and employees as well as Risk analysis and management. If you would like further details please don’t hesitate to contact us to see how we can tailor the program to best suit your needs. ***All courses and workshops come with the digital version of the student manuals or training notes included in the cost. If you would like paper versions these are £6.00 each for student manuals and training notes and £16.00 for Instructor Manuals. |

Testimonials Association of INTO Dogs Inaugural Canine First Responder and CFR Instructor Course 13th and 14th of September 2008. What a really fantastic fabulous course! I have to admit that I have never been on a First Aid course before, mainly based on my fear that if I was trained I wouldn’t be able to use these skills in an emergency! (Maybe you can understand what I mean, all that blood, and what if I fail and someone dies, would it be my fault?) But what a confidence building genius Mike is! I will never feel that way again. When I got the course notes, I thought, that looks daunting and we will never get through all of that material in one weekend. Well, we did! AND…! it was one of the most enjoyable courses I have ever been on. I don't ever want to see a dog in physical distress, but now, if I did, I feel confident enough to deal with the situation competently. Jeremy Tanner, Dog Behaviourist. WOW WHAT A FANTASTIC WEEKEND! THANK YOU SO MUCH MIKE. Just surfaced after a very long sleep. Exhausted following one of the most enjoyable and productive weekends I have ever spent. Thank you all: Fee, Mike and Jeremy for your excellent company and making it such a special experience for me… As to the course: The material is extremely comprehensive. My best advice is to, (Unlike me!) read the material and complete the knowledge tests at least once. As to the training: You couldn’t wish for better. I have spent most of my life working in a training environment and Mike knocked my best efforts into the proverbial “Cocked hat”! Very relaxed and creates an environment to match. Very positive, all mistakes were made to feel like learning steps. Completely at ease with the materials even though these where the first of these courses. He has an enormous breadth of knowledge and we are SO fortunate to have access to his experiences. But most of all he is one of the nicest, most genuine people I’ve ever had the good fortune to meet— so genuine in fact, that the foregoing would embarrass him very much…… so don’t tell him ….. OK ! Very Sincerely Michael Hayes (Canine Behaviourist) Association of INTO Dogs Canine First Responder Course 20th September 2008 Congratulations to Angie Ingman, Bev Ward and Jaquie Stafford for completing the Canine First Responder Course. It was a great deal of fun and a laugh a minute. The Nottingham area now has three new Canine First Responders. Hi Mike. Thanks for the course today.... I really enjoyed it. Having done 'human' first aid it was still very useful doing this course and I have already confirmed the pulse in my two at home and they are alive!!!!! Really easy to find the pulse actually! I really will need a trailer soon though for my 'extended first aid kit'. Seriously though with a few additions I can easily accommodate dogs into my 1st aid kit in the car and now feel confident to do the same for human and canine alike. Excellent ….. Confidence is the key and you gave us that. Thanks …….. Can’t wait for the Instructors Course now !! Lou Louise Flack (Dog Listener) I attended the Canine Responder course, followed by the Canine First Responder Instructor course last weekend. Our Trainer was Mike Jones. This course is a must for anyone working or living with Dogs, If you have ever wondered what you would do if you or someone else’s dog was injured, then this is for you I had my doubts whether I could do this, having had no first Aid experience but Mike is such a fantastic teacher with such a wealth of knowledge. Mike made this course highly enjoyable, he taught in a calm, easy to follow manner with lots of opportunities to ask questions, never hurrying you to learn or making you feel stupid for asking questions. I have come away being very glad that I took this valuable gift, knowing that I can now safely help an injured or sick animal in an emergency I can highly recommend this course Thanks Mike Jackie Spencer ( Dog Listener/trainer) Hi everyone I had a great informative 2 days on both the Canine First Responder course and the Instructor course and now feel equipped to deal with an emergency situation. Hopefully I will never need to use the knowledge that I gained on the course but its good to know that my training will come to the fore if it is needed, and hopefully I won't put pressure and a bandage on a cut with glass in it!!! Oh, Mike and Michael, you were mean to give me that scenario! I am practising my Instructor course at home and in the car, so I hope no-one can hear me repeating over and over 'Is this your dog? My name is Mel, I am a canine first responder, can I help at all?'. It was a pleasure to work with Mike and Michael and the other participants in the course and I wish everyone all the best for the future.' I found this course informative and fun. The course was very interesting but combined studying with practical work which made learning easier. I was shocked to discover what I had actually learned in such a short space of time. The instructors were open to comments and questions and created a great learning environment. This course has opened doors for me and for that I am grateful. I would recommend it anyone and everyone. On the course ...I would recommend this course because of the learning style. It combines learning with putting it into practice so you don't even realise you are learning. I learned above what I thought I would as this course offers info on secondary first aid care as well as primary which makes it different from others out there. This course will be used in my future business plans and so I would definitely recommend it to others working with animals whether it be a dog walker to vet nurse. Dawn O’Donahue CFRI, Little Angel Pooch training, Kildare Town Ireland Hi Mike, Just wanted to pop you a quick email to say a HUGE thank you for yesterday's canine course. It was such fantastic value for money and so informative and professional - yet in a really friendly and welcoming environment. I couldn't have asked for better! Lisa Stanbury, Kent |
