In September 2008 we introduced the Canine First Responder Course© which was developed to give professionals and the dog loving public the skills to deal with canine emergencies. Mike Jones being an Emergency First Response Instructor for Work Place First Aid Courses, applied to Emergency First Response for a Distinctive Instructor approval to market and teach the course under the EFR Banner as well as our own brand name.

 

Emergency First Response granted approval and recognition as of the 1^st of October 2008. So now when clients sign up for a course dual certification is available to them one of which is a globally recognised training brand name and the fastest growing training agency in the market place for first aid training giving clients the added satisfaction that the program as been looked at by professional educators in the field and approved for it’s educational validity and content.

 

So what is a canine first responder? The  Canine First Responder is similar to its human counter part. It is by no means a replacement for treatment by a vet, it is a course designed to give you first aid and CPR skills for the canine form. We give you hands on practice on a canine CPR mannequin called Casper and show you priorities of care to follow before evacuation to your vet for treatment.

 

Since its Introduction it has proven very popular with course bookings from all over the country travelling to the Midlands for training to prepare should that emergency arise with mans best friend. We work hard to educate owners about dogs and their welfare and are now fully trained Instructors around the UK and Ireland as we develop a network of regional training providers in Canine First Aid and CPR and because the training is standardised you will receive exactly the same course at which ever course venue you attend by professional Instructors who are not only knowledgeable about dogs but also canine first aid and CPR.

CFR Comes to Kildare, Ireland

 

The weekend of 09th and 10th of May 09 saw us travel over to Ireland to train 18 new Canine First responders and 8 new instructors. It was a superb weekend and were made to feel so welcome and the participation of the audience was second to none. A special thanks goes to Dawn O’Donahue for all her hard work in making the weekend happen and also for her historical knowledge of Kildare which we found fascinating. We wish you all the best in your endeavours and you know where we are if you need anything. Instructor contact details for Ireland will be included on the site soon, watch this space.

CFR Comes to Denmark

 

The beginning of May 09 saw two new Instructors qualify to teach the CFR Course in Denmark. The content of the canine first responder course far exceeds other, more basic courses out there and does provide realistic CPR practice on a canine manikin. All our canine CPR Instructors are trainers and behaviourists with extensive knowledge of communicating with dogs which is also passed on during the course. Health and Safety—Canine Risk Assessment Workshop©

We introduced this workshop to give employers the tools to include a canine Risk Assessment in their current Risk Assessment Procedures when employees have to enter a domestic or commercial environment where one or more dogs are present.

It is of a half day duration and can be booked as a stand alone at our premises or yours or, we can incorporate it in to your own staff training program.

 

Safe and Sound with Dogs Workshop©

This workshop is designed for schools and any organizations for children.

It is interactive with the materials designed and produced by the kennel club. It’s aim is to show children of any age how to safely interact with dogs they know and how to react to dogs that approach them that they don’t know.

We also cover responsible ownership of dogs and how they can help look after their family pets.
